How can you be certain that other coaches-to-be were not at the bowl games of the teams they will take over? Maybe the media simply did not cover it the way the media chose to cover Rodriguez. I am sure that he would have stayed away had Lloyd Carr asked him to. Lloyd simply had no objections. In fact, if you will look at the style of Michigan's play in the bowl game, it is easy to conclude that Lloyd was showcasing his players for their new coach and his new system.
